Proper procedure is to present arguments
based on the Feds failure to secure the border and protect from invasion
(which is in the constitution), which is essentially what is happening at
the border. Article IV Section 4 obligates Congress to protect the States
from invasion. Now just exactly how SCOTUS has defined invasion, or if
they ever have, I do not know. If this is what AZ has in mind, I look for
Obama and company to try and change the legal definition of invasion to suit
their purpose.
DOJ seems to be basing their case on the Supremacy clause, which reads in
the Constitution of having more to do with treaties, which I seem to recall
having heard them mention before. But I am unfamiliar with anything SCOTUS
has ruled on, so I have no idea what they can do with this. The argument is
moot.
No place does the constitution say the word immigration and no place does it
give the feds the power to regulate it.
Clause 4. The Congress shall have Power To establish an uniform Rule of
Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout
the United States.
I agree with Arizona law. Let the illegals go back to their own land I could never figure out how the USA defends criminals gives freely our tax money allowing illegals to have babies and we pay for them and we can't take care of our own people Americans. We have allowed foreign people to take over our gas station restaurants even in the medical fields we have been sold out have we gotten lazy because we had it so good now look at where we are trying to make illegal immigrants and what they do to be okay. When a cop stops me he ask me for my drivers license why is it a crime for a cop to do his job if I wasn't guilty I shouldn't have a problem with it. why do we handle this lawlessness differently than other countries with illegal people they are breaking the law when does wrong now seem to be right and even protected by own laws even if it isn't right and we know it how have we gotten so far from the foundation of our country that man has become a law unto himself we've so political that we can't even enforce our own laws so I applaud the governor of Arizona for wanting to protect her state and people form all the crimes and everything else that is happening because of illegal immigrants enough of them stealing taking our jobs land houses our children's future. enough is enough cwp/PA
I think its high time this government does something about the people they let in this country and don't know where they are. My daughter was raped in front of her children and almost drowned by three immigrants who don't deserve to be in this free country. We stand for justice and liberty, well what are the people who were born here getting if they are just allowed to stay. there are sleepers here already just waiting for another attack, and our country are protecting them because of our freedom rights. the rights should only be for those of us only, who were born here. I think any child born here when parents are illegal should not be a us citizen. why do I have to follow laws and illegals don't.
There are TWO Articles in the US Constitution
that outlines the mandatory requirement that the US Government protect each
and every state from "Invasion". If the US abrogates that duty,a
State may "Engage in War" against the "Invasion" WITHOUT
the Consent of Congress.
See Article 1,Sec.10 AND Article 4,Sec.4 (US Const) RC.Laity
WE HAVE SO MANY AMERICAN HOMELESS PEOPLE HERE ALREADY THAT CANT GET THE CARE THE ILLEGALS ARE RECEIVING. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT PICTUE?????????????????????????GA
Arizona, Many kudos! You are doing the right thing. What is this about asking for ID when stopped for a violation being racist? Since it is mostly dark skinned people who are illegally entering the USA,it stands to reason that they should be the ones that are suspect. I am white, but I have to show my ID in the bank, the stores, if I'm stopped for a violation, to cash a check, if I want to join an organization and so on and so on. I am for controlled legal immigration, but the current situation has become completely out of control. If I am to take care of someone to the extent being done with taxes paid, I want it to be for one of my fellow citizens! VOTE in November! LRS Nevada
Why is just the spanish people your are looking at. There are so many other people in this country that are not legal like the Italians the polish the koreans the chinese the ukranins the irish should I go on. You know the point I am getting at. This is not right to look at just the spanish people. Look at all the rest.
I think Arizona is doing this for all the
right reasons. This is a state law that Arizona is passing, and it is not
conflicting with any federal set laws. I think law enforcements should be
able to work together, and disperse the federal powers to a certain extent.
When it comes to situations like this, it is very important for certain
states that are directly affected(Californi,Texas,Arizona) to have a say so
in what actions congress will take. The Federalism concept lets states take
full responsibility of there economic state as a duel power. Once again, it
is the responsibility of Congress to deal with this issues, but when it directly
affects an economy, a people, and takes from taxes from the government, it
is defiantly a states concern. And when these immigrants are not being taxed
by the standards that state has set, its a states concern. A

The law does not go far enough. I do not believe, one tax dollar should be spent on non-citizens, NOT ONE DOLLAR!!!!!!
People must start writing their reps. Let them know NOW: If they do not represent WE THE PEOPLE, and continue to use tax dollars to fund the up-keep of illegal immigration, WE THE VOTERS will send them packing. CS Long Island, New York
My family and friends support Arizona.
Arizona is doing what should have been done during the 80s. Lets see a USA
citizen cross into Mexico illegally, he or she would be in prison and or
tortured.
Texarkana Arkansas
OK first of all i do not follow the arizona
law it shouldnt be just for mexicans. not ALL mexicans are gang members
and drug smugglers and what not! im not racist or anything im just saying.
what about those Haitians AND Africans?! they have more violent gangs in the
US. theyre the ones who should be deported too. Just because OBAMA is
African doesnt mean ALL africans should stay. I know more Black gangs then
Mexican gangs in the US! theres like 5 black gangs where i live! and so
africans and haitians are allowed to curse, talk back and threaten police
and not get in trouble or arrested?? OH but if Latinos do that to police
they atomaticaly get arrested or even worse?! Im a US citizen and im
sick of my own country? and im not even ashamed to say it.. wow. Bush was a
better president.

GO AZ!! PLEASE make sure that your voice on ILLEGAL immigration is heard!! Write and send communications to you government officials and THE MEDIA!! FLOOD THE INBOXES!!! Stand united, the future is upon us. CHICAGO, IL. USAThe 2010 election for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate are in November! If they would like to keep their respective offices, they will need to begin the Impeachment process on the grounds of violations described as "abuses of power", "Contempt of Congress","Malfeasance", "Usurpation of power" and "violation of public trust". Everyone who is outraged needs to make this crystal clear! LJ
I am so sick of being walked on by the government. They ignore everything the people want or dont want. Did you all see the flags they were waving in front of the jailhouse in Arizona?? A marxist flag and of course the Mexicsn flag. These people have no desire to become American citizens-only citizerns without the American attached to it. This is an invasion of the United States and it is bold and in your face. We need to stand together and have a walk out, a protest, something. This insanity has to stop. CA=Mexifornia CP
Thank God she did! This is a huge sign that God is protecting this minority group and we should think about how important is to lend this people a hand as they haven't been as fortunate as us. We were born in a gold mine...they weren't. Many of them were lucky to have a home made of clay. Have Heart!
Why in the world does the USA have so many blind and stupid citizens and especially politicians? If any one of us illegally immigrated into any other country in the world, we would be imprisoned and found to be a criminal. That's what illegal equals - criminal. Wake up, folks, your country is being invaded and our Federal Government is doing nothing to stop it. Hooray, Arizona, keep on pushing your immigration law, disregard the Federal law suit against you. What can they do if you don't obey the paid judge's decision? I'm not sure but fully believe if the judge was a lawful judge he would have judged for Arizona, and thus I must believe he was paid by the Feds. I will always welcome LEGAL immigrants and I will always expect ILLEGAL immigrants to be caught and returned to their country of origin. Please, please, do not put them in our jails. I'm tired of paying their way in the country, jailed or not. Wake up, American citizens (that means LEGAL residents), fight this administration because they are doing lots of other damages also, for example, health care, finicial, military, and others. Study each "CHANGE" currently being implemented and compare it to the "CHANGE" you were promised. dmc Caifornia
Why do these illegals come across the border when they know they are not wanted? Its the drug runners and human summuglers that are making billions of dollars with their illegal trades, and draing money from Arizona, The federal govenment has no intenion of helping Arizona, so I guess it will be up to Sherriff Joe and Sherriff Paul to clean out the dregs of society form Arizona JNM< Arizoona
I STAND WITH ARIZONA BORDER CONTROL.
racist republican party. the party of no.
We have laws that are not being enforced. Period! It appears that officials enforce the laws at their descretion vs. enforcing all laws on the books. Aside from the financial burden on the U.S. and the States, my biggest problem with the illegal imigrants from Mexico is that they do not believe that any of our laws pertain to them. The gangs are merciless even to their own people. I believe that each county, in each state, should have a taskforce, and that those who hire I.I's should be fined. Nevada and Arizona have the right idea, round them up and send them home. Yes, I know the quality of life is horrific in Mexico, but down through history, all over the world, people have fought for their rights. Perhaps the I.I's from Mexico should put their energy into a civil uprising (take the power away from their corrupt government and thugs) vs. selling drugs in the U.S., murder, and all other illegal activities. S.O., Illinois
This sickens and shames me that this law is up for debate. We have the right to protect our country at all cost regardless of whose feelings get hurt and anyone who wants what is best for this country should understand although it's not ideal,it's vital to our countries safety and for god sake our countries reputation. This is an embarrassment to our country that we can challenge a law that helps keep our country safe. Feel free to ask me for my proof of citizenship I will gladly take a stereo type over the allowance of a possible burden and threat to our country I don’t get upset if I have to show my proof of insurance and or drivers license, however, I would be upset if they didn’t check because that would mean they weren’t doing their job... DO YOUR JOB AMERICA ... protect our CITIZENS...
Go Arizona ..I am 1000% behind ALL US states that follow Arizona new immigration law. We don’t want the United States overtaken by illegal persons south or north of the United States border and whom which many do not care about the USA and our customs or wish to learn the English language. And with many Mexicans believing that the USA was stolen from them hundreds of years ago. We USA legal citizens MUST do something to control our Out-Of-Control Borders. If the Mexican community in Mexico (or elsewhere) wish to enter the USA enter LEGALLY just as everyone else has to do that’s the LAW. If you do not like the law STAY in Mexico it’s just as simple as that. Don’t dictate to the United States on how we run and enforce our laws. The illegal Mexican people currently residing in the United States should be dictating to the Mexican government on creating a better and stronger Mexican government so that they would not have to leave Mexico to come to the USA. It’s NOT Racism ..It’s ILLEGALISM. Your problem is Mexico not the USA. AJ Black American Las Vegas, NV
thank god that governer Brewer has the strength and foresight to do what is right. She is a beacon of hope for all law abiding people worldwide and I would support her anyway I could. God bless her FWM NY
I think all states should have the same resolve as Arizona, there the only state that makes sence. This a huge problem, arizona is the only state seems to be able to deal with it. The feds cant, so what's the answer, some one of u highly paid elected politions might want to do your job. Get rid of the illegals, middle class America is tired of supporting them, Im trying to put my son in college, bet u wont give his white ass a free ride
What part of illegal is unclear?
I agree with Arizona. They are doing what the Government should have been doing all along. Its a sad day when the Government supports illegal activity and defends it. Legal immigration is one thing and illegal immigration is another. I'm glad to see someone has decided to protect their laws and themselves. The rest of the states should too. We also need to take off the books the requirement of "born in the U.S" which automatically makes them a legal citizen.
It is about time something was done to close these borde crosings. The federal government ignores these entrances to the United States and focuses on plane and ship arrivals. In the meantime, hundreds of thousands of illegals are simply walking into this country unquestioned. NB, CA
I think its wrong and the immigrants are hard workers we need them. We should make the united states of america guatemala mexico. As one as christ did so for us. A.wood dadecity fla
Yes, Our Federal Government has FAILED all of
us by not enforcing our immigration laws, and now we have an estimated 20
million illegal aliens in our Country. They must be forced to leave.
I like the State laws, they are good, but I do feel each State should have
the same law.
I'm from Delaware and we tried to get the Oklahoma law passed here. My
legislator made the DRAFT. Another Senator thought it was too much to pass
at one time and just went for E-Verify in the businesses.
So, we will go for the Oklahoma law again in January. I stand with
Arizona and their SB 1070. What is everybody complaining about with
the law? It's less than the Federal law. Personally, I think
they should have taken it.
This illegal immigration MUST come to an end, and not with amnesty.
These illegal aliens must be forced to leave this Country and go back to
their own Country where they belong with their families.
When we get rid of all the illegal aliens, we will get rid of all the
problems that go with them. THAT IS A FACT! Delaware Bob Smyrna,
Delaware
This is a ego crazy president who can't stand a state doing what he should of already done. Jl
Anyone who wants to come to America, must realize that they need to follow the rules, laws and steps to become an American citizen. Not sneaking in. They are carrying drugs or guns.Sneaking in.Perhaps destroying government property along the way. They come in lawlessly; how can we expect them to follow our laws? Are we safe? I am sorry that it is difficult for where you live. You want to live in a better place. But do it the right way. Millions came before you and became naturalized and are citizens. There are over 22 million illegal aliens right now. Wake up America. We need to protect our borders. We are a land of laws. srb NH
The argument that "these are jobs that
American's don't want to do.." is flawed. So what happens when
the 12 million criminals who violated our sovereignty become citizens
(because we "can't" remove them all)?? You think they'll
want to do those jobs then? No way...they're just going collect
welfare or demand a higher wage, so they law-breaking people who hired them
will have to find new illegals to do the work that the new
"Americans" don't want to do!!
I also think it's crazy that we elect people to represent us who all seem to
have a defeatist attitude. No US representative should say the US
"can't do" something. The US can do anything and that's what
made us great. It's something they don't "want" to do.

Arizopna is doing the right thing for our children and our country. Obama is toxic to this country and is destroying it at every turn. Obama is succeeding. We must vote these people out that is if our vote really counts anymore. Join numbersusa and CAPS if your in California-you can send free faxes and prefilled emails. Makes it really easy to be active against this insanity.
Over the years the vast majority of the congress and the senate were more interested in getting more potential voters and cheap labor. The fact is the lobyist money ruled. Now it is up to the voter to vote for only those who are for building a double layer fence and stopping amnesty. Also let us not forget the 40% that enter this country on a visa and have no intention of leaving. This insult that other countries would not tolerate is allowed by those who claim to represent us! VOTE THIS NOVEMBER FOR A MEMBER OF ANY PARTY THAT WILL BE ON THE SIDE OF AMERICANS!! WR, NEW YORK
Doesn't the Federal Government realize
if they inforced the law then the State Government has to inforce it.
I go along with Arizona.
I'm listening to the song "GOD BLESS THE USA" while I'm typing
this and I am so glad I am an AMERICAN. Anyone can be one also if they
come into this country legally. B.A. Fla
i thank that is a bunch of bull sh..t my boyfriend will get his pappers no matter what you do jc ky
Dear Members of Congress, I fully support Arizona's new immigration law and denounce the President's lawsuit against this state and any others that feel they have to protect themselves! This is what happens when the Federal govenment neglects to do its job after a long period of time. May GOD bless Arizona! WRP in N.C.
It's truly pathetic and a complete failure on our federal governments part that they've allowed it to get this out of hand. I believe that Arizona is simply taking the actions needed to compensate for the inactions of our government. In any other country this would have already been considered an invasion and warranted military action long ago, yet we, for some reason have done nothing as if it's a good thing-for WHO? criminals? Its time to stop the bleeding-CLOSE THE DAMN BORDER ALREADY!!!! If you truly want to be an American prove it and go through the proper channels, I have no problem with immigrants, what I do have a problem with is the invasion of our nation and the damage it is and has caused already. DE Indiana
BUY and SUPPORT ARIZONA!!!!!! AH in NC (NC is another "border" state if you count the illegals here)!!!
Why can't the dems or repubs figure out that if their party decided to abide by and enact our laws in closing the borders and sending the illegals home they would get the greatest amount of votes from the USA citizens. That party would probably stay in power for years. It makes me very suspicous of what may really be going on. I would vote for Janet Brewer as my president in a heart beat, because I feel if this issue is not dealt with according to US law nothing else will matter.
They should give right to illigle immigrants.either way they working and living in us.
To all Arizonans I salute your patriotism bravery and love for our great Republic. Our country and the great traditions it stands for is being slowly eroded by an administration blinded by there own agendas, to see reform is not what is needed it is enforcement of current laws that should be enforced. Keep the faith and God bless Arizona and her Governor ! V.T. Calif.
I applaud Governor Brewer and Arizona legislature for doing the job that the federal government won't do. I live in Sacramento, CA where the city council just voted to boycott AZ - what an embarrassment! They need to fix Sacramento's financial problems before attacking a state that protects their citizens. CA state legislature also wants to boycott AZ - an even bigger embarrassment. db, California
I agree with the Arizona Law. Other states should follow suit. Ijm Mississippi
Arizona did right...I wish all states would follow suit, including writs of mandamus to the federal government, brought by the states' senators. R.E, ND
We need for our government to support the Arizona law. Afterall, it is just like the federal immigration law that our government is not supporting well enough. We need some military boots on the ground on the border, with the order to shoot if the illegal doesn't stop with a warning.
Arizona is doing what every state should be doing. Thanks guys for taking a stand against this progressive government. BG Florida
I am in favor of the Arizona immigration bill. If we are to have the rule of law it should be for everyone. SP Florida
LOVE IT!! Only a true racist would NOT love the AZ law! I would add any person or persons who help an illegal should be held accountable.
I am ALL for what Arizona is
doing! I only wish more cities and states would follow. There is no country
in the world that doesn't require the paperwork for immigration but the USA
is allowing all kinds of illegals here. Our own federal goverment has
betrayed us for the illegals, breaking their own laws to do so.
They, the Feds, are breaking the law by not upholding it! JL
I completely agree with Arizona's law. The law doesn't say that just because the cops see someone that looks Mexican they can stop them. It says if an officer of the law stops an illegal for a completely different reason, then checks if he isn't an illegal, and he or she is then they can do what they need to do. So for all you people that think it is something different well there you go so stop causing all these riots. Thank You for reading. T.M. CA
I'm glad to see Arizona pass a tough new immigration law. I would say it's long overdue now that the U.S. has about 11-12 million illegal immigrants in it. The biggest cost associated to illegal immigration is when they birth children. They say about 42% of illegals are female, which means there are around 5.4 million females, each birthing about 3.4 children a piece, since they come hear in their prime childbearing years, which brings the number of children that they have had, or will eventually have, to a little over 18 million! And emergency medicaid (or the taxpayer) will be footing the bill for all these labor and deliveries and the various food programs that feed their children. And to top it off, about half of these 18 million kids will drop out of high school with many of the other half barely graduating - thus continuing the cycle of poverty that the taxpayer typically has to subsidize through various welfare programs and the EITC.
I support Arizona's Immigration Law. Others
states should enact similar legislation. The US government is not
representing the wishes of the US citizens:those who live here legally, pay
taxes, and are paying out of their pockets for people who are breaking the
law by residing here illegally!
LE Connecticut
Congress why do we vote for
people that don't care about Americans? Congress you are too concerned with
the worlds' problems and not ours. ILLEGAL immigration must be stopped and
reformed. I don't understand why illegal immigrants have a better life than
so many LEGAL citizens. CONGRESS stand up for the LEGAL citizens of the
America and follow Arizona's lead! The American people which you all
say to represent are counting on you!!
Wishing Washington State would adopt Arizona's law!! Way to defend the LEGAL
citizens of your state!
LR Washington State
Arizona's new law regarding local enforcement of federal law is a good idea. Clearly Mexico is conducting an unarmed invasion of the United States, clear and simple. Immigrants are encouraged to leave Mexico and illegally enter the United States by the Mexican Government to the detriment of the U.S. Tax Payer. JFM/Ohio
The only people who do not oppose illegal immigrants are those who exploit them for profit, don't have to interact with them on a daily basis or they have illegal immigrant family members here. JS TX
I have read a lot of blogs and websites regarding this situation and the majority of American people are against having the illegals here and supporting them while we go broke. So why isn't the government protecting the American People?? No one is congress or the White House seem to care if the word Illegal means "against the law" could it be because the commander in chief has a few "ille...l" family members that were living here as well. VL CA
I live in Michigan, and in
the small town I live in, we don't see a lot of illegal immigrants.
However, the people of Arizona have voted for their representative, and
passed this law which does NOT go against the Constitution or Bill of Rights
of the people of our country.
So what is the problem, really? Is it that we're so afraid of what
people will think that we refuse to uphold our own laws now? This
country was founded on the idea that you have freedom, as long as you don't infringe
upon somebody else's. Well, I'm sorry to say there are too many people
taking advantage of the situation in certain areas, and they have been
forced to take a stronger stance because of it.
It's not like we're talking about putting innocent people to death, here.
We're talking about sending the people back home if they have entered this
country illegally, and broken another of our laws. If I were to try to
go to another country illegally, I probably would not be treated as well.
Call it racial profiling, call it harassment, call it whatever you will, but
the reality is that the people of that state are only trying to identify
those who have broken the law, and are putting a tremendous strain on the
communities there. If the issue is that people are afraid they may be
treated differently, fine...ask every single person who has broken the law
for proof of their legal residency, regardless or race, age, or sex.
Make it part of your Miranda.
As a citizen if I commit a traffic violation,
I am asked for my I.D. and proof of insurance. Then my info is run through
the computer to see if I warrant any more action other than a citation. This
is standard procedure for anyone. Our American government has become an
enabler of illegal immigration. We offer medical assistance, birth
citizenship (anchor babies), and living assistance. Illegal means coming to
the U.S. with fraudulent papers or bypassing The Immigration Border. It
appears to me our government being tentative on illegal immigration and
kissing up to Mexico's president is all about getting the vote. Arizona is
simply protecting and upholding our Constitutional laws which seem to have
taken on a new meaning with our government. We have asked our border patrol
and our police officers to protect us, let them.
JT TX
I have had enough of the swarm of Illegal or undocumented aliens entering our country as a haven for them. I give the State of Arizona 10 Stars for taking action and seriously taking a stance to this problem. The US needs to know this dilemma has affected a rise in crime, births, housing, schools, social services, employer profits, TAXES working for cash and not paying taxes). A.P from CA
Today was the day that the President promised Arizona details to the help the Federal Government would be sending. The call, the troops, the help, the money.. Never arrived. Nothing. We are all US Citizens without a President. JoeUSA from Florida.
I am ashamed of the current administration's blind eye approach to the border states plight. Arizona has backbone to go around, but due to unwillingness there are no transplant recipients available in our nations capital. Absolutely "anchor babies" must not signal automatic citizenship. I support Arizona and wish Texas to join them in passing the same state legislation! R.G. Texas
My father was an illegal
immigrant way back when however he was a different kind of person. One
that worked to get the proper documents and paid his taxes and was never
involved in illegal activity, today so many are here to defy our system and
make a quick buck that harms the children of our nation. I took a trip
to Mexico and one of the tour guides said you stupid Americans let us go
over there and sell you all the dope we can so we get richer and you get
stupider. Ponder that, I see it, and have dealt with it. I don't
mind carrying my pass port or Id in other countries, It would be stupid of
me not to.

We left Ca. in 1988 because we lived in the San Joaquin Valley and even though I had a pretty good job making grave markers, my husband quit his job in a bar when we got married and he couldn't get further schooling or a job since unemployment was double-digit even then. If you couldn't speak bi-lingual you couldn't get work. My folks went to Ca. from Tx and Okla. back in the 30's and worked hard in the crops but they were happy. I saw the graffiti and trash in my beautiful home state of Ca. and the mess the schools were getting into because of over-crowding; the same schools I went to as a child. I saw the beginning of the United States of Mexico and I believe it is only going to get worse if not stopped now! It is turning into a third world ugly part of the country out there and I am totally for the Arizona law that mirrors the federal law. It should be tougher like the federal law. Please stop this scourge now before it is too late. Thanks for letting me comment. NJF, Tn
May God bless Arizona for having the guts to do what is right. It is time we all find out how our congressmen vote on immigration and vote them out of office. I am starting an e-mail on how they vote so people can vote them out. Poles have shown 90% of tax payers are against their tax dollar going to support illegals so there is only one way to make congress understand. This is what is wrong with our schools, social security, Medicare, medicade in short this is what is wrong with our country. We MUST vote them out.
they cross over one day and by the next they are waving the flag of Mexico and demanding their rights, they do not love this country its the only one the can walk too
WHAT ON EARTH IS ARIZONA THINKING ABOUT TAKING ON CHILDREN BORN IN THE UNITED STATES TO PARENTS WHO ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS? TO ME THEY HAVE NO MERCY. CHILDREN GODS PRECIOUS GIFTS AND BLESSINGS. NO WONDER THE DEVILS R AT WORK. KIDS R INNOCENT AND LAWMAKERS SHOULD NOT INVOLVE KIDS IF IT IS NOT FOR THE BETTER OF THEIR FAMILIES. ARIZONA LAWMAKERS HOPE THE HAND OF THE LORD STRIKE YOU GUYS IF YOU SHOULD INVOLVE KIDS IN YOU WICKED ATTEMPTS AND MATTER. JID
Wish we had this law in Kentucky. I can't believe I paid taxes for 30 years and worked my way through college so my step son could get an illegal alien pregnant and she laughs about never having to work again. Must be nice; in the country 4 months, make a baby and mooch of my taxes while living rent free....it's sickening.
Drones would be the correct way to monitor our borders, it seems like a no brainer. Are we currently using them? If not why? Mass.
It does not matter if you have a love one or
anyone who works hard day and night to earn a decent job, earn a living to
support himself and his family. The issue here is not wanting
hardworking "martyrs" to stay in our country. We are talking
about IMMIGRATION LAWS. I feel so sorry if you have friends relatives
who by nature are kind-hearted, behave decently and do the dirty or menial
jobs under so much pressure with minimal wage. I also know people who
are like your love ones. But the law applies to everyone otherwise we
might as well allow everybody to enter without papers, over-stay, get
involved in marriage fraud or just tear the borders
apart. It is still the right of ANY country to control people who
sneak in without authorization. Besides, the Bible also says,
"Respect the laws of the land."
By the way, Isn't Mexico's anti-illegal immigration laws more harsh than
that of the United States? DLC CA
Arizona Immigration Law is GOOD on Fixing Illegal Immigration in the Future, But we need to FIX the present Immigration problem on how to deal on 10million to 20million illegal immigrants in different race not only Hispanics are illegal here there's some other countries, Fixing this Illegals thru Pay Fines, learn English, background check Pass Only have GOOD CHARACTER), Then Fix Social Card's, Fix Family Petition (Petition 20Yrs. To get there FAMILY MEMBER) that's why some they overstayed there VISA, Then after this IMMIGRATION FIX ,Now they can Implement the LAW that they want to deport all present Illegals here .Did you know that if ILLEGALS PAY FINES, Example: 5,000 each X 20 Million = $ 100,000,000,000 Billions, We can save our economy or why they don't want it because some officials are CORRUPT.....ROM CA
I think it's wonderful all states should have the same law. JJF Virginia
When uninvited, armed persons are sneaking across the U.S. border it is an invasion and deadly force should be used to stop them, We are at war! This is NOT politics. 30 million illegal aliens were let into MY country by Bush, Clinton, Bush, Bush, and now Obama, and their respective Congress'. These politicians have committed High Treason and should be punished for High Treason, along with their immediate family members. JS, Virginia and New York
I fully support this Arizona law. My friends who are legal immigrants to this country, support this law. All of the work their families had to go through to become citizens here, and now the illegal aliens are taking their jobs. It is a shame that our government seems to want to protect the criminals rights rather than it's own citizens. WE are not racist, we want the government to do it's job, protect us, not give us healthcare and more government funded programs. I am form Maryland, and I hope that Maryland will adopt laws like this one.
I think that the united state is right in defend the nation , I have speak in Spanish ,I have seen that they need to continue doing illegals thing for keep the secret but my question is how about the people like me that came here legal ,and try to speak your language because love my husband's language and can not have with me all the time my papers because I know that the illegal people can steal it ,the police will let me call my husband , if in that moment I am just talking or working with a person that have problems with the law ?
Don't post if you don't know the situation. There are many many families that are undocumented and who don't live out of welfare nor who live from unemployment. Why don't you start doing something about the many americans who shamelessly go and claim unemployment simply because they think they are too good to pick up jobs such as cleaning toilets,floors,carwash,landscaping... And these are the people standing in the corners of main intersections claiming to be homeless. Most of them are young, non disabled individuals who have documents so therefore have more opportunities when it comes to finding a job but NO... they prefer to just play lazy and then you hear them pointing fingers at the undocumented who although they have many barriers to find work...do! because they work hard at finding it and they are not going around choosing. They know they have a family to feed and they work their sweat off not caring on wether they will get soiled and sweaty. Those who were born here...have sympathy, you were just fortunate to be born in this country. If you had been born in an underdeveloped country in poverty, you too would have done all you could do to make it here even if it meant illegaly! Keep in mind..that even those who do want to come to the USA legaly can't because ... visas are limited and specially limited to the humble and poor. DO your homework before you point fingers! Crasborne, VA.
I feel that if you are here illegally you should have a chance to get legal . We all need to relize that we need each other both in market and trade issues . Also to the one's that don't want illegals here I stress once again are you and your family willing to go out and harvest the many crops these hard working people do for thelow wages they get . Thats what will happen and who will put food on our tables then ,talk about poor ecomony you will see then. USA citizens stop bitching here and go out and work in a field for a day then come back and write a comment here . work like they do and then voice what you feel then . Get off our welfare and hud and foodstamp programs and then work like they do and then again voice your thoughts here walk the walk they do then you can talk the talk .. POINT TAKEN Cabrera19.. FL
The American public is being misled. GOD BLESS ARIZONA and Governor Jan Brewer. Stop the Chicago style politics. Where is Obama's brain (Rahm Emanuel)..Is he still hiding in Israel from the Sestak bribe. We all know a barmitza does last for 3 weeks. Bless Jan brewer from great lakes
It took a woman governor to
push/pass and sign this tough immigration law! Where are those male
governors?
Don't they have the balls to sign the same law or are they afraid the Hispanics
might not vote for them on the next election?
Congratulations to the governor of Arizona. This just proves to me
that we need more women in politics.
In short, Arizona was fed up with a lack of enforcement from the feds and acted to protect their residents. They shouldn't have had to do it. Congress needs to address real immigration reform this year, election year or not. SLWM from Washington State.
iT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHO POST COMMENTS HERE YOU ONLY POST ONES THAT WANT MEXICANS OUT SHAME ON YOU ALL cabrera19.. FL
Reply to the above comment from congressandimmigration.com: We post all comments that we receive unless it contains racist, threatening or language against the Law, we do not pick and chose what to post. Our site is against illegal immigration and law breaking, not against Mexicans or any other Nationality, at the same time we are all for Legal Immigration from any country so a person from Mexico, China, Saudi Arabia or any other country that came to the USA Legally is more than welcomed and is part of this great Country. On the contrary a person who sneak into our country illegally from Mexico or has overstayed his Visa from Sweden or any country has broken the Law and should be treated as such, the Law is the Law and should be respected, we can not chose some laws to respect and other laws to break because we do not like them. I hope that clarified our position.
TO ME PERSONALLY I FEEL THE NEW LAW IS BU**, I AM MARRIED TO A ILLEGAL AND HE WORKS WAY HARDER THAN ANYONE OF OUR USA CITIZENS ,,DO THE WORK THESE PEOPLE DO AND THEN COMMENT OR GET OFF YOUR STATE WELFARE AND FOODSTAMPS AND HUD HOUSING THATS WHERE ALOT OF MOENY IS BEING USED AND FOR WHAT OUR LAZY BUTTS HERE TO GOOD TO DO REAL WORK LIKE THESE PEOPLE DO ...YOU WILL NEVER STOP THEM FROM COMING HERE WASTING YOUR TIME ...AND OUR TAX MONIES ON A STUPID FENCE AND EXSTRA PATROLS AT THE BORDER . FIND THE MN THAT ORDERED THE PLANES FIRST INTO THE 9-11 TRAGIC THAT KILLED SO MANY OF OUR OWN AND IT WASNOT A MEXICAN WAS IT ... cabrera19.... FL.
I want to read the new state legislation about illegal immigration in AZ. I am from MN but support the right of AZ to make laws on its (and everyone else's behalf)
Why are we hearing a pledge to enforce laws against BP but the effort to enforce laws against illegal immigration is pathetic? The impact on our economy and the cost for providing health care and education for the illegal immigrants is just as costly and eliminates jobs for legal citizens. Please enforce ALL laws.
I am 100% for this bill...............every state should stand behind Arizona and do the same. It is very clear that Obama is not going to stand up for the American people. MN.... North Carolina
Discrimination is wrong in any form
very much inhuman,America is a beautiful country and everybody loves it,
my opinion. we must stop all illegals coming
into America for job security for true Americans.
we need our borders patrolled and it should be from Texas to san Diego
. we should use the standing army of America to stop it now.
all illegals would be sent back to a Mexican jail to serve time.
we must stop the drugs from coming in.
Obama is not aggressive enough to do one thing about this.
THE AMERICAN ECONOMY CAN NOT AFFORD HEALTH CARE TO THESE PEOPLE AND THE
MASSIVE DEBT OF OUR COUNTRY IS IN BIG TROUBLE. DQ -WI

I spent a long weekend in AZ two weeks ago
and spent more money than I should have, but I don't care. I wrote
letters to the Governor and told her she had my undying support and also the
man who threatened to turn out the lights in LA! I SO wish that
would happen...
Then this week I called an AZ company and actually both the guy who answered
the phone and gentlemen that took my order SPOKE ENGLISH, it was wonderful.
No pressing 1 for English. GO AZ!!!! I can't wait to move
there! JS/CA
Do your damn jobs and quit
talking about reform, what do we need reform for just enforce the laws we
have, NOW! You have failed the American people miserably, what the hell's
matter with you guys? Don't you read the polls or have staff members read
some blogs so you can see what the vast majority want or don't you care?
Pull your heads out of the mainstream media, they are dead wrong, you guys
are truly pathetic for letting it get to this point!!
Dan M. California
I can't believe this is even up for debate,it's so absurd they we are not enforcing our existing immigration laws! Most (not all) are not here to assimilate, most are just here to take advantage of our ridiculosly weak federal government!! Enforce the damn laws like you swore to do when you were sworn in!!
Way to go Arizona!!!
In the United States we have roughly 309,358,039 people, of that, at
least 23,000,000 are illegal aliens.
Since 2001 they have wired $270,000,000,000 (YES! TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY
BILLION DOLLARS) to Latin America from funds acquired in the U.S. (Money
that is not being used to stimulate the U.S. economy)
Since 2008 we have spent $25,000,000,000 incarcerating illegal aliens
and spent $397,458,481,404 since 1996 on social services for illegal aliens.
If we estimate each illegal family has 2 children, 1 stay at home mom, and 1
person working, then each and every illegal family has sent an estimated
$47,000 to Latin America since 2001.
All while our hard earned money pays for their school lunches, food,
housing, medical care, education, etc...
How many American families do you know that have saved $47,000 since 2001???
Illegals are laughing all the way to the Bank!!! And guess who's looking
STUPID???
Think about it!!! K.S. in CA
We do have immigration laws. All we have to
do is enforce them. But we have to make a couple of changes.
Any child born in the USA to an illegal mother and or father has to be
considered illegal and not a US citizen.
We have to change the description from illegal immigrant to INTRUDER. After
all, a person that enters my house without my permission is an intruder and
is liable to leave my house on a stretcher or in a casket. Those caught
sneaking in...brake their legs and put them on the other side of the border.
We need to have a data base for all the people on non-permanent visas. If
they refuse to leave when the visas expire, we need to make them leave. If
anyone is here illegally, they ought not have any rights, no legal counsel,
no appeals. NO VALID VISA...YOU GET KICKED OUT, PERIOD. Their only right
should be for them to be deported immediately. Any questions???
H.B. Florida, USA
Let us admit that those who want amnesty don't really want us to control the border. All of these years they have been saying that we must have amnesty and border control at the same time. As Sen. Jeff Sessions said, if water is coming in your basement, you don't say you'll stop it as soon as you figure out what to do with the water inside. So year after year they keep coming in and we hear the same garbage as the problem gets worse. So what about all those who have come in all these years of debate? They have more illegals to assist in voting for them! We need thousands of troops on the border to stand guard while a double layer fence is being built, which of course they don't want. They are very good and tricking the American people into believing that they are on their side. Now is the time to find out before the mid-term election which lawmakers are for building the fence and oppose all the advocates of amnesty.
I support Arizona's Immigration Bill 100%.
Before dealing with immigration reform on a national basis, the BORDERS NEED
TO BE SECURED FIRST.
SMH - Texas
I am so glad that Arizona has
the guts and took a stand on this long over due issue. It is very apparent
that our so called elected officials on Capitol Hill will do nothing about
this just as they have for the past 25 years. Their biggest issue is to pass
a "path to citizenship" program, so they can count on the
additional votes, to get them re-elected. Until we have more States taking a
stand like Arizona, we will continue to pay higher taxes, more on medical
health and higher crime bills
R.H California
I love the new law I wish the whole country would get the law
wish Ohio would adopt same law as Arizona c.d. OH
From the L. A. Times
1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million
people) are working for cash and not paying taxes.
This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants
working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal
aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien
Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican
nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living
in garages.
7... The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely
illegal aliens from south of the border.
8 Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak
Spanish.. (There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County .)
(All 10 of the above facts were published in the Los Angeles Times)
Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on
welfare. Over 70% of the United States ' annual population
growth(and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from
immigration. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
We are fools for letting this continue
Jan Brewer has the guts to do what is best for Arizona. Shame on the United States Congress.
What is wrong with enforcing laws that are "on the books" before this bill again is enforcing the law
God Bless Gov Jan Brewer and Arizona. I wish Texas had a Gov with guts as her. I am about to be homeless because illegals are being hired over Americans. Companies are not checking their backgrounds nor ssn numbers. San Antonio is becoming Little Mexico.
I like the immigration law that was signed by the governor. It will make companies think twice if they have an illegal immigrant in their payroll...under the table payment in cash. bmc Arizona
I agree with Arizona Enough all ready!!! I have been working all of my life paying taxes and my children get no help however illegal immigrants get more than enough IL TWC
Good Job Arizona it's about damn time!
You have only the rights you
are willing to fight for!
Mexicans here and in Mexico are rather upset by the recent enactment of
stricter anti-illegal alien laws by Arizona's governor.
In light of the following, that position demonstrates the typical double
standard used by race-hustlers and assorted something-for-nothings.
Read on, and read it to the end.
New Immigration Laws: Read to the bottom
1 There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
2. All ballots will be in this nation's language.
3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are
here.
5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office
6 Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food
stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden
will be deported.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least
equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners come here and buy land... options will be restricted.
Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens
naturally born into this country.
9.. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a
foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his
policies. These will lead to deportation.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted
&, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All
assets will be taken from you.
Too strict?......
The above laws are the current immigration laws of MEXICO !!!
These sound fine to me, NOW, how can we get these laws to be America's
immigration laws??
WAKE UP, AMERICA - we are about to lose our country......... BJL
Texas
This country should adopt and
enforce the same law Arizona passed. Heck, if it just enforced the laws on
the books now it would help to stem the illegal flooding our country. Maybe
they should do what President Eisnehower did in his time, load them on buses
or boats and turn them loose 100's of miles from the border, make it harder
to get back in.
R.S. PA
EVERY state should adopt the same law. ENOUGH! Al, TX
I support the Arizona immigration bill. L.C., Alabama
I applaud Arizona for the
actions they have taken to solve a problem with illegal immigrants. People
need to stop thinking it's an attack on an ethnicity, but see how we
are spending our tax paying dollars on people who do not contribute back to
us. They get state and federal money and send it back to Mexico. We have no
problem with those who want to take the steps to be here legally. Every
citizen is required to care proper identification with them and show it when
asked by law enforcement. Why should that be different for the ILLEGAL
immigrants?
If Washington would wake-up and secure the boarders, we would not be having
this issue or debate.
more power to Arizona for stepping up to the plate and at least acknowledge
the problem. LB, Idaho
I am so tired of working hard, paying taxes to support illegals who come here, suck the life out of our schools, healthcare, etc., and watch California go broke. Enough already! If our congress does not grow some balls and change this mess, we will have a civil war on our hands soon. Barb in California
I LOVE ARIZONA!!! Thank You Arizona for having the courage to enforce the Federal LAW!
I strongly agree with Governor Brewer. This is the United States of America, Not Mexico North. Illegals do not have any rights with the sneak into our country, commit crimes (rapes, robberies, murder) then sneak out when they are in fear of arrest. Our President is not listening to the overwhelming voices of Americans. I feel President Obama is trying to make this a racial issue when it is not. I do not care if "Green people" are coming across the borders as long as they are doing so legally as our ancestors did. What country would let me sneak in, have no proof of citizenship, drive without a license, have a child, get a medical card and live in housing paid for by taxpayers without costing me a penny? If the Mexican President does not like our policies, perhaps I can sneak into his country and he can foot the bill for my living expenses....The mexican President needs to worry about his corrupt government and he does not need to concern himself with how we govern our country. Amnesty is not the answer, rewarding people for criminal behavior certainly is not the answer. If we do not have the resources to round up the illegals, how does President Obama feel these people are going to come forward and pay a fine and say sorry?? That is ridiculous and insulting... MD Kentucky
I am for the Arizona law!!! The illegals send their "earned" money back to Mexico, to family, leaving us taxpayers holding the bag and paying for their school and hospital care. I also think they should stop giving birth certificates to babies born in U.S. from illegal pregnant mothers!! This madness has to end, because the Federal Gov't. isn't doing anything. This is how Obama was helped being voted in, he promised to help the illegals. We Americans (legal)are losing our country. I'm tired of pressing "1" for English. Send them back. Mexico is hard on anyone from S. America coming into their country!! MM from Ohio
This is so bad it's unbelievable. We have to
go through scanners at the airports, have our dignity and liberties taken
away because of the excuse of "Security" after 9/11, YET it's OK
to cross into the US illegally and even work, get social services, I cant as
a citizen. But it's ok for me to pay for it. All states have laws concerning
illegals, but they don't enforce them. why all the services for people who don't
pay for them. We have semi truck drivers who have no documentation, no
insurance, what happens when they get into an accident? flee back to Mexico!
Kill someone? Flee back to Mexico, actually happened this week in Santa
Clara Ca.
Why do we as voters, have such low expectations for those we elect to run
our affairs? Boggles me! KG in Ca.
I applaud the state of Arizona for taking action the task constitutionally mandated to our broken failing Federal Government to protect our borders. Mexico's economy can be helped by outsourcing our prisoner industry to them. FK MO
am all for the Arizona
immigration law. If you have nothing to hide why would you not support
it. i will gladly show my proof of citizenship if I get stopped.
If it makes America safer I am all for a little inconvenience.
A.G. Nebraska
I wish California would follow Arizona. We are literally being invaded by Mexico and South Americans. They are teaching their children to hate us and for Reconquista. The President of Mexico is an idiot and should try and figure out how to fix his own country. Yes, we do have a drug problem here but if we secured our border it would cut off the largest supplier of illicit drugs and weapons heading south. We need to enforce our laws on the books and not let the minority rule (open border nuts). Americans are fed up with over crowded schools, hospitals, increased traffic and pollution which all comes down to too many people. I plan on leaving California and moving to Arizona, so does my family and many of my friends. California is losing people left and right because of the constitutional failure of our government to protect us from this foreign invasion. Good job Arizona!! Arizona wont loose money because many of us will be moving there which will help the state. California is going down the tubes and is becoming a 3rd world state all because of spineless politicians. What a shame!!!
What is wrong with enforcing
laws that are "on the books" before this bill again is enforcing
the law
